Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) in Arkansas

Great news for Arkansan families, since the winter LIHEAP program has opened its doors to accept applications for energy assistance during the colder months. Unlike the summer program, the winter LIHEAP now provides assistance not only with electricity but also with propane, natural gas, and firewood. If your household meets the requirements, you can access this valuable support to stay warm and safe during the season.

To receive LIHEAP assistance, your household must meet the income and family composition requirements set for your department. You can check these requirements directly with the organization serving your area. Keep in mind that once your application is approved, assistance should arrive within the next 30 days.

Apply NOW: The LIHEAP Funds Are Not Infinite

The funds for families in need are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, and once funds are depleted, new applications will no longer be accepted. Therefore, program officials recommend submitting your application as soon as possible.
